THE FILM

Set against the haunting, ethereal landscapes of Scotland's Isle of Skye, Skinjacker is a slow-burning sci-fi horror that draws on ancient Gaelic folklore to deliver something genuinely unsettling - and entirely original.

When what appears to be a meteorite crashes onto the island's rocky hillside, cutting all power and plunging the area into darkness, a group of locals, tourists and thieves find themselves trapped together in the Odail Pass. As people inexplicably vanish and a spine-chilling mechanical roar fills the night air, whispers of the legendary Biasd Bheulach - the Beast of the Odail Pass - begin to spread. But what unfolds is far more chilling than any folklore could foretell.

Produced through Zoghogg Studios.

THE ACHIEVEMENT

Produced on a micro-budget of £18,000 during the Covid pandemic - under some of the most difficult personal and professional circumstances imaginable - Skinjacker went on to secure international distribution through Synkronized, reaching audiences across more than 20 territories worldwide.

The film is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Plex and Fawesome TV — available throughout the UK, United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, South America and Asia.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

"Sometimes there's a place or a story that keeps coming back into your thoughts. The mesmerising landscapes of the Isle of Skye possess an inexplicable allure, as if an invisible tether binds me to their beauty.

Skinjacker emerged as the perfect project at the perfect moment - even though I grappled with profound personal grief during its production. It was with the unwavering support of my dedicated team that we navigated through this adversity. I hope that those who watch Skinjacker will find the story and the images on screen to be something both beautiful and memorable."
